The first sponsor of the center is Mr. Bishop in Pinar del Río, who is the first rector.
Mr. diocesan Bishop will appoint a Priest who represents him and can join the diocesan team spiritually and in teaching.
-Mr. diocesan Bishop will appoint a laic as director of the center. The director of the center and the adviser Priest, after consulting the ones they choose, will introduce a diocesan team to Mr. Bishop for him to approve the proposition.
- This center will be supported by laic organizations such as MCAS
and the catholic Commision for Culture in the library ¨P. Jaime Manich¨ and other organizations.
- The members of the diocesan team is responsible for the sponsoring of the center, its functioning, the coordination with other educative centers, the continuity and efficiency in the services they will pay to the parishes, groups and communities of the Diocese.
- It works through workshops or weekly meetings in places belonging to the parishes and houses of mission.
- The sponsors of the center, that is, the ones that created it, will receive periodically their education specially through methodological classes and a yearly meeting near the date of the founding anniversary of the center.

COMMITMENT OF THE CENTER SPONSOR:
The sponsors establish a commitment once they are engaged in this project. This commitment is renewed yearly:

"I , with the help of God , commit myself, as a sponsor of the Civic and Religious Education Center, to work for fulfilling its purposes which are:

"Instructing, educating, and exercise the civic, ethical and cultural principles, in a christian inspiration with the purpose of preparing the persons for the participation in society and being responsable for it and the church, according to our own human and christian vocation¨.

For that, I promise to:

1) See myself as a part of the sponsor Team and contribute to the work of the center with my opinions and contributions.
2) Study the contents, methods and exercises suggested in the texts and enrich them with my initiative and personal creativity.
3) Teach and sponsor at least one course in the parish and help other communities if necessary.
4) Participate in methodological classes and other academic activities , promoted by the center for the sake of my own human and christian education and to contribute to others´ education as well.
5) Permanently cooperate with the tasks of the center through my help and sponsoring so that the center can offer a variety of services in the future.
6) Make a greater effort to be coherent with my faith and my life.

All that, under the christian principles of the Church Social
Doctrine , pluralism and respect for others' philosophical, political and aesthetic ideas and choices.
We will do our work inspired on Father Varela's teachings, because he was the first one who ¨tauhgt us how to think¨ and specially under the principle that ¨there is no homeland without virtue and no virtue without piety¨.

HOW TO APPOINT THE SPONSORS.
The priest, other community sponsors and the Parish Council appoint and choose the new sponsors according to selective criteria and having in mind each one´s charisma:

1) To be truely willing to accept this commitment.
2) To be appoved by the parish priest, the Parish Council and the animation team of the CFCR in the parish.
3) To have a certain level of commitment in the community.
4) To have an average cultural level.
5) To be older than 18 years old.
6) Not to have the intention to emigrate.
7) To promise not to do political or partidist proselytism in the Center activities.
